Dow Futures Edge Lower After Positive Week
After major benchmark indices ended the week higher, U.S. stock futures declined during Sunday's
evening trading as investors awaited company earnings reports and important inflation data.
By 7:00 p.m. ET (11:00 p.m. GMT), the Dow Jones Futures were down 0.2%, the S&P 500 Futures were down 0.3%, and the Nasdaq 100 Futures were down 4.4%.
The week ahead will be focused by market participants on new CPI data, with the inflation rate predicted to rise to 8.8 percent, the highest level since December 1981
Retail sales, manufacturing output, Michigan consumer sentiment,
NFIB Small Business Optimism, consumer inflation expectations, producer prices, export and import prices
NY Empire State Manufacturing Index are just a few of the data releases that investors will be keeping an eye on.
Fresh corporate earnings will also be closely monitored with with PepsiCo Inc (NASDAQ:PEP) and Delta Air Lines Inc (NYSE:DAL) slated to report earnings Tuesday
